  1. Aziz and Dathan did a great job explaining Lucille Clifton's introduction to writing. They captured her family life, themes, and reasons for writing very well. They showed their knowledge of Lucille Clifton greatly. The best part of the Presentation was the visual aspect. They had a nice Powerpoint, and I enjoyed the videos tremendously. They analyzed the poems very well and did a good job of including the whole class in a discussion. Their transitions between topics, and the altogether flow of the presentation was the least polished thing about it. They could have prevented this by rehearsing a little bit before they presented.

  2. I think you both did a great job at enganging the audience in the presentation and expressing the poems of Lucile Clifton. I really enjoyed the fact that you including her reading some of her poems because it allowed the listener to really feel the passion that she expresses through her voice. I think it was a great way to allow the audience to get a better understanding of how she handles her poems.
I think that there was room for improvement in telling the audience about her life rather than just a main focus on a few of her poems. I felt like there was too much time spent on the analysis of a few poems and not enough time spent telling about who she was and her life. Overall, I really enjoyed the presenation. Great Job!

  3. I loved this presentation. I was very intrigued by the information you gave about the kind of household she grew up in and how different of a time it was compared to modern day households. It's very interesting that both parents didn't finish their education but still inspired a love for reading in the household, it really says something about the generation and also something different for our generation. I liked how you asked the audience questions throughout your presentation. It kept us entertained and into your presentation, I'd like to try that move out sometime. I did enjoy hearing her read her poems out loud also because it added a lot to the poem. A few suggestions for the future, you might want to try rehearsing beforehand and form conclusions when you are done making points. Besides that, I really enjoyed this presentation!

  4. I enjoyed this presentation a lot because of how neatly they put together the powerpoint for it. I think that they did a great job of explaining Lucille Cliftons life and also what she stood for. I liked how they had the class read some of the poetry out loud, had people answer questions, and then give us good questions to analyze the pieces with. I did think that the speaking could have been a bit more prepared because it sort of felt like they were reading off of the board for a lot of it and not really having anything else to say. Overall I think that Aziz and Dathan did a wonderful job teaching the class and put a ton of work into the presentation.

  5. The presentation was very informative. I enjoyed the power point as a guide in providing visuals of Lucille Clifton. It was helpful to learn about her upbringing and early life to understand the poems in a deeper sense. I enjoyed the reading of the poem "Homage to my hips". Her voice brought the poem to life and the power behind it. The layout of the handout was very organized and helpful when referenced. It would have added to the presentation if they would have rehearsed before so it would created a smoother transition between the presenters. Very interesting presentation on a powerful and influential poet.
