Britnee did a great job with the bio of Dorothy Parker. She really brought her to life with the direct quotes. They really explained her attitude and tone as a poet. Britnee did an awesome job of giving us an oerview of her work, and explaining the poems she chose to share with us. I think the least polished thing about this was the lack of visuals. Britnee did a great job, but I think something for us to look at would have definitely supplemented the presentation.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciated your approach to presenting us the information and I could tell you really had an understanding of who she was. I found Dorothy Parker to be extremely relatable through her humor and witty comments. I really respected your choice at presenting without a power point and just relying on a few notes! Great Job.
ReplyDeleteThe only disconnection I felt with the presentation and poet was not having a single image or visual example. I think it would have been nice to have a image of her on the board while you presented to help the audience better visualize her while she wrote her poetry throughout her life. Maybe even an article from one of the magazines she wrote for would have helped!
(+) I liked how you went through her life summarizing it and highlighting some of the more important bits; about her hating the fact that she is well like for her wisecracking. You really knew what you were talking about. (-) This is really a simple thing, and I'm sure you put it in your PowerPoint, but having a picture of her.
ReplyDeleteHi Britnee, I really enjoyed your presentation. I was very impressed with how much information you knew about her off the top of the head. I could really tell you tried to have a good understanding of her and her poetry. The presentation did seem a little bit disorganized at some points but the information you were presenting was always very interesting so it didn't distract from the quality of her biography and her poetry. I loved the little facts you added about her and I feel like I know Dorthy Park a lot better than I did going into your presentation. One suggestion I have is to possibly add a visual, that way the audience doesn't doze off and they have something to apply the information to. Besides that, great presentation!
ReplyDeleteBritnee, I thought you did a great job on your presentation. I thought that you tried to incorporate so many cool facts about Dorothy Parker like how she worked for all of the magazines and the quotes that she would say. You kept the class really engaged by being very personal and genuine with your piece. I think you stumbled a bit with the organization of the piece which made some parts a bit more confusing but you remained to keep the audience engaged and you didn't fall apart so in the end it worked out completely fine. I loved how you actually are very interested in this poet and your admiration showed through your presentation. Great job Britnee!
ReplyDeleteHi Britnee, I would like to thank you for doing your presentation on Dorothy Parker. I have learned a lot about Dorothy Parker. I was amazed on how much details you knew about her. I can tell you spent a lot of time on this presentation. One constructive criticism I have for you is provide less information about the poet and more information about her poems. One positive criticism I have is I loved how you use quotes from the poet, this help us have a better understanding of how the poet really is and I also love how you talked about what some of the critics thought about her. Overall, great job Britnee!
ReplyDeleteThe presentation was very interesting. A lot of information was presented and it would have been helpful to have a handout to follow along with her life events. It was intriguing to hear about her upbringing and distinctive personality. I enjoyed hearing some of her humorous remarks and bold life choices. A visual would have been helpful in placing her personality with a face. Overall it was a strong informative presentation.
